Message from The Campaign Chairs

More than 400 years ago, Ursuline foundress Saint Angela Merici inspired her sisters to be alert to the times and adapt to changing circumstances. The Cleveland Ursulines have been doing just that since coming to Cleveland in 1850. Bold in faith and vision, the sisters have always responded to change with courage and creativity in order to better serve the people of God. 

Today, the Ursuline Sisters see a new future on the horizon. Current circumstances invite new models of community life and service, firmly rooted in tradition, ignited by faith, and shaped by the pioneering spirit and prudent planning that are hallmarks of the Ursulines.

We ask you to join with the Ursuline Sisters as we embark on the Bold Faith | Building a Future campaign to secure a viable future for the sisters and their ability to serve. This campaign addresses an important and timely funding priority:

The construction of a new Ursuline home to support the life and ministry of the sisters, a cost-effective residence for current use and one adaptable for future use.  Total building costs are projected to be $20 million of which the sisters will contribute $6 million from the sale of the land. The campaign will raise $8 million leaving the balance of $6 million to be funded through debt financing.

This is our first major fundraising campaign in 25 years. Together with lay advisors, the sisters have developed a forward-thinking plan in a fiscally responsible manner. We are confident this initiative will succeed in wisely stewarding resources as the sisters continue their mission of service.

We know we can count on your support now, just as we have throughout the years. We do nothing alone. All is animated by the Spirit and achieved through partnership with our family of supporters.
